SECURITY PROTOCOL AGAINST COVID-19

ECOTUR LANZAROTE, SL (KAYAK LANZAROTE) has developed a safety and prevention protocol against COVID-19, based on the specific guidelines and recommendations for Active Tourism and Ecotourism, published by the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE) of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

This protocol is established so that the reopening of our activity does not increase the risk of community contagion, using the necessary protection measures for our staff and clients. The risks in the development of our activities have been identified and analysed and best practices have been implemented in our service and staff.


MEASURES IN THE FACILITIES AND WITH THE EQUIPMENT:

In order to guarantee the safety of staff and participants during the development of activities, the following measures are implemented:

In our facilities:

Every day, before opening, after finishing the activity and at the time of closing, the facilities will be disinfected using a disinfectant / virucidal, using the necessary PPE (mask and gloves).

Zones with safety distance are established for each natural group that we will call box, which are assigned to customers upon arrival.

Informational poster is placed at the entrance to the facilities in order to facilitate customer compliance.

Equipment:

Depending on the equipment used, the following disinfection systems are established:

Kayaks, boards and paddles:

After use, and located in its place, we will proceed to its normal rinsing and subsequent spraying with 1% hypochlorite solution and water.

Life jackets, bags and helmets:

After use, they will be disinfected by immersion in aqueous solution with disinfectant / virucidal.

Goggles and snorkels:

After use, they will be disinfected by immersion in an aqueous solution with disinfectant / virucidal.

BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE ACTIVITY:

Booking System:

We recommend that, as far as possible, the client uses the reservation system with electronic payment available on the web, as well as the use of the credit/debit card in our facilities.

Customer information:

By the booking system, the customer is informed of all health and safety measures we have implemented, the requirements to make the booking and cancellation conditions resulting from a related situation with COVID-19.

Also, with the same information, the customer accepts the conditions to be met to attend an activity by a declaration of conformity. This declaration of conformity will be sent again via email, once the reservation has been made.

Preventive measures in our facilities:

In order to be able to carry out all measures in place, the staff will inform the client of the measures to be taken for the protocol to be effective. There are also informative posters about it.

In the access to the facilities, we have hydroalcoholic gel to disinfect our hands as soon as we arrive. At the access to the facilities and toilets, there is a hydroalcoholic gel to disinfect the hands as soon as they arrive. The use of the mask is mandatory inside and outside the facilities. During the trip, its use is excluded, as long as the safety distance between non-cohabitants is kept. To do this, follow the instructions of the staff.

The staff will wear masks when providing equipment and receiving payment from customers.

At the end of each activity and before the daily opening, the common areas of the facilities will be cleaned and disinfected using a disinfecting and virucidal product, including toilets.

Each natural group will have its own space (box) where they can change, leave belongings and receive equipment, maintaining the recommended safety distances. In addition, we will make it easier for you to change outdoors.

It’s established that the use of the toilet by the customers, is by natural groups (same booking, same car or family unit). The staff will inform you of the moment in which that group can use them.

Preventive Measures in Transfer Vans:

At the end of each use of the van, the interior of the van will be disinfected, as well as the exterior parts that are touched in a common way, such as the door handles.

The disinfection of the parts that can be touched by the users will be done using a virucidal.

Textile parts, such as protectors and seats, will be vacuumed and disinfected by spraying a virucidal.

The floor, being of plastic material, will be vacuumed and mopped with virucidal.

Regarding the use of the van, we will attend to the legislation in force at the time. In any case:

They will use the vehicle, the number of occupants allowed by current legislation.

Occupants will always wear face masks.

Windows will remain open at all times to allow ventilation and air renewal.

THROUGHOUT THE ACTIVITY:

Sea Kayak

The allocation of kayaks will be done in correspondence to the natural groups. We will prioritize the use of double kayaks between those groups and the individual ones for clients who are not part of a natural group. With this, we will ensure that the use of masks is as low as possible.

The kayaks will be prepared in the place intended for them, with the paddles inside and previously disinfected.

The equipment (life jackets and waterproof bags) will be provided to customers in their box. Goggles and snorkels will be delivered from their location in a virucidal basket.

The kayaks will be carried and left on the beach by the users themselves.

The briefing will be done establishing a circle by the clients at a distance of 3 meters from the instructor, who will be in the center of the circle and 2 meters from the person next to them.

The staff will assist in the entry and exit of the water wearing a mask and gloves.

Along the route and stops, the safety distance of 2 meters between kayaks will be maintained, taking into account natural groups.

In the same way as at the beginning, the kayak will be returned to its original location by the users themselves. If you need help from the staff, it will be done through the use of gloves and masks.

All equipment delivered to customers will be left inside the kayaks.

SUP / Paddle Surf

The allocation of boards will be made in correspondence to the natural groups.

The tables and their paddles will be prepared in the place intended for them.

The waterproof bags will be provided to customers in their box. The goggles and snorkels will be delivered from their location in a basket with virucidal.

The tables will be carried and left on the beach by the users themselves.

The briefing will be done establishing a circle by the clients at a distance of 3 meters from the instructor, who will be in the center of the circle and 2 meters from the person next to them.

The staff will assist in the entry and exit of the water wearing a mask and gloves.

Along the route and stops, the safety distance of 2 meters between kayaks will be maintained, taking into account natural groups.

All equipment delivered to customers will be left next to the boards.

Coasteering

From the measures established before starting the activity, the staff will deliver, to the clients in their box, the wetsuits, life jackets and protective helmets necessary to do it.

The transfer to the place of the activity will be done as a priority using the participants' own cars. If this is not possible, it will be done through a company transfer van. For this transfer, the hygienic measures provided by current legislation will be preserved.

The transfer by the company van will be using protective masks. If the client does not have his, it will be provided by the company.

Along the tour, the safety distance of 2 meters will be maintained between each client.

At the end of it, the assigned equipment will be left in the place designated for disinfection.

Hiking

The transfer to the place of the activity will be carried out as a priority using the participants' own cars. If this is not possible, it will be done through a company transfer van. For this transfer, the hygienic measures provided by current legislation and this protocol will be preserved.

The transfer by van company will be using protective masks. If the client does not have his, one will be provided by the company.

During the tour 2 recommended safety distances are established: maintenance of the safety distance 3 meters with the clients during the march and 2 meters during the stops and explanations of the guide.

CANCELLATION POLICY AGAINST COVID-19

Measures aimed at the viability of the company:

Due to the situation generated by the current pandemic and in order to guarantee the viability of the company, if the scheduled activity is cancelled, either by the client or the organizer, we ask you to postpone it. Don’t request a refund.

If you decide to postpone it, we will offer you a voucher for the activity that can be used for one year from the date of cancellation. During that period, if you finally have no chance to do it, we will proceed to refund the amount paid.

Cancellation Policy:

The cancellation policy remains the same that is generally applied in our reservation system. That is:

CANCELLATION BY CUSTOMER:

Once hired the service or activity, the customer is entitled to desist of the activity contracted at any time before departure. However, if this withdrawal takes within 15 days prior to the excursion, will pay the management fees and cancellation by a penalty depending on the time remaining for the activity, which will be:

5% of the total price of the trip if it occurs with an advance of more than 10 and less than 15 days.

15% of the total price of the trip, if it occurs in advance from 10 to 3 days.

25% of the tour price if produced within 48 hours before the activity.

The consumer will not have to pay any percentage for penalty if cancellation occurs due to force majeure. In this case such cause must be adequately evidenced with documents and / or official medical certificates and those who may be required.

The cancellation is effective when the organizer knows that the client wants to cancel.

Knowing the cancellation, the organizer returned to the client the amounts paid they had paid in full within one month, after deducting management fees and penalties that apply.

CANCELLATION BY ORGANIZER:

The cancellation of the activity, for any reason that is not attributable to the consumer, entitles him to refund the booking.

During the booking process, the customer has read and accepted:

Referred to clients, these are the security and prevention measures that they must carry out:

Do not come to the activity if you have symptoms compatible with this disease, which are: fever, cough and feeling of shortness of breath. Other symptoms may include: tiredness, aches, runny nose, sore throat, headache, diarrhea, vomiting. Some people lose their sense of smell or taste.

Do not come to the activity with companions. If you come with them, they will not be allowed access to the facilities to maintain safe distances indoors. Therefore, they will remain outside of them.

Follow the instructions at all times that the staff will provide, regarding safety:

Location within the facilities.

Safety distance.

Use of toilets.

Delivery of equipment.

Use, as far as possible, electronic payment. The use of cash can be a source of spread of the virus. In case of using the cash payment, follow the instructions of the staff regarding the disinfection of hands with hydroalcoholic gel.
